ABOUT - THE AUTHOR & THE COMIC
About 'THE SLITMAWS'
THE SLITMAWS is a webcomic and zine/mini-comic-book series, illustrated, written, and published by a single guy - me!
The story takes place in the ambiguously-Scandinavian-looking town of Snowville, where a group of clumsy 20-something-year-olds form a black metal band, and try to survive the hardships of their cirmustances; between trying to book gigs in the judgemental environment of Snowville, their eternal rivalry against the Goths that haunt their favourite video store, and the slight suspicion of something paranormal working behind the shadows, The Slitmaws have their plate not only full, but overflowing. (And hey - you can read more about the cast here!)
THE SLITMAWS is a dark comedy slice-of-life style webcomic with an all-queer cast, for both fans of extreme metal and casual listeners alike. If you've ever wanted to read about the unholy, satanic lovechild of Scott Pilgrim and Metalocalypse, then this just might be the next best thing!
About THE AUTHOR
Heyo! It's me, the author. The one dweeb who writes, draws, and posts all of The Slitmaws, for your own enjoyment.
Mikhail Wulfrun is a full-time illustrator, part-time songwriter, and to-the-grave horror and metal fan. Born in the pivotal year of 2005, he grew up between tattoo studios and comic book stores, reading things that were perhaps not meant for his age range, but that shaped his taste forever. (Shoutout Roman Dirge, Gloomcookie, and Scott Pilgrim.)
Mikhail knew from the moment he picked up a pencil at 3 years old, that he didn't want to do anything else in life. However, the ever-prolific procrastinator and self-sabotaging creature of darkness that he was, he would have a constant upward battle to get there - not so much from the judgemental family, who swore he would die homeless and broke before ever becoming an artist, but moreso because drawing comics is a lot of work. And he'd much rather watch horror movies and procrastinate than work.
Struggling to make a name for himself in the vast wastelands of the Internet, this vintage dweeb is now putting himself out there for your entertainment - so, a round of applause for our Mikey Wulfrun. And let's hope he gets this month's issue out in time.
